Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the brand\u2019s vision to transform the way we drive and transform the way we live, is leading a number of key announcements at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.<\/p>\n
Nissan has revealed that under its new Nissan M.O.V.E. to 2022 midterm plan, it will offer electrified powertrains within the next generation of its best-selling crossovers. This pioneering initiative will further extend consumer choice, allowing customers to select the model they want and how they want it powered.<\/p>\n
The announcement is the latest example of the brand delivering on the Intelligent Power element of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. This framework, first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago, is guiding Nissan\u2019s vision of how its vehicles are driven, powered and integrated into society.<\/p>\n
The icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility is the fully electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF. \u00a0With more than 300,000 sold since launch in 2010 and more than four billion kilometers driven by customers, it\u2019s the world\u2019s most popular electric vehicle.<\/p>\n
Nissan is already a generation ahead when it comes to clean sustainable motoring, and with the launch of the all-new second-generation LEAF \u2013 on sale in Europe since last month \u2013 the brand is again rewriting the rule book for EVs.<\/p>\n
Orders across Europe have now passed 19,000, with 13,000 of those placed before the car was even in retailer showrooms. It means the \u201cSimply Amazing\u201d new Nissan LEAF is Europe\u2019s fastest-selling EV.<\/p>\n
Currently, a new LEAF is being sold every 12 minutes across Europe.<\/p>\n
Technology that debuted on the new LEAF is already being rolled out across Nissan\u2019s range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. For example, ProPILOT advanced driver assistance technology will be available on Europe\u2019s best-selling crossover \u2013 the Nissan Qashqai \u2013 later this month.<\/p>\n
ProPILOT is a building block of autonomous driving and an example of Nissan\u2019s innovative approach to Intelligent Driving. ProPILOT is designed to increase driver excitement, control and confidence for Nissan owners.<\/p>\n
And the LEAF\u2019s 40kWh battery is now available on the e-NV200 van, increasing range by 60% with no reduction in load-carrying capability.<\/p>\n
Intelligent Integration is the third and final pillar of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. It uses Nissan\u2019s pioneering electric technology to enhance the role cars play in wider society. Nissan\u2019s new partnership with energy company E.ON is the latest example of this in action.<\/p>\n
Under the initiative, Nissan and E.ON will explore opportunities for pilot activities and commercial offers related to vehicle-to-grid services, renewable energy generation and storage solutions, as well as grid integration for Nissan electric vehicle customers.<\/p>\n
Further supporting the acceleration of electrification, the collaboration is advancing Nissan\u2019s ambition to offer free power for its electric vehicle drivers.<\/p>\n
Straddling all three pillars of Nissan Intelligent Mobility is the striking IMx KURO concept, which showcases in one vehicle Nissan\u2019s global leadership and future direction in both EVs and crossovers. It has 320kW of electric power capable and more than 600km range on a single charge.<\/p>\n
The IMx KURO concept features Nissan\u2019s revolutionary Brain-to-Vehicle (B2V) technology, which detects, analyses, predicts and responds to the driver’s brainwaves.<\/p>\n
